KeepSpace and Sustainable Communities will build on the success of Olneyville's Riverside Gateway

Rhode Island Housing selects two Rhode Island LISC partners - Olneyville Housing Corporation and Pawtucket Citizens Development Corporation - for KeepSpace Communities creating opportunities for collaboration.

The goal of KeepSpace is to create viable and resilient communities by bringing together a wide array of stakeholders to design and implement projects that provide integrated solutions to housing, environmental and workforce needs.

"LISC's Sustainable Communities and Rhode Island Housing's KeepSpace are a natural fit," said Barbara Fields, Executive Director of Rhode Island LISC. "Through an extensive community visioning process Sustainable Communities engages neighborhood residents, business owners, social service leaders and public safety professionals. Together, they identify and support programs and projects that address critical community issues from housing and commerce to arts and education. LISC's role is then to marshal the resources to ensure that the plans become reality."
