A Vision for Sustainable Communities

Local Initiatives Support Corporation’s work with community partners to revitalize underserved neighborhoods has been an indisputable success. Communities once characterized by blight and hopelessness now reflect widespread physical improvements, safer streets, increased property values and more engaged residents.

As physical revitalization in neighborhoods has progressed over the years, the attention of local leaders—and thus of LISC—has increasingly turned to the next phase of building healthy communities: creating opportunities for residents of those communities to raise their incomes, build assets and gain access to quality education, health care, jobs, services and recreational amenities.
